ASTM Standard 2072 requires : Minimum photometric specifications for PL egress and safety markings. This Standard delineates the luminance values required to allow replacement of typical lighting. The Standard is a slide rule scale of a PL material's square meter area and it’s luminance. GM acknowledges the “old technology” that was the basis for these determinations. However, in the interest of Safety, GM offers only PL egress materials that are at least 10X higher than the DIN Standards for luminescent performance. Many facilities are not keen on the “industrial” appearance that bulky low performance materials require in order to meet ASTM illumination Standards. So along with our more traditional tapes we offer architecturally sensitive, Ultra-bright low profile tapes utilizing our GM-RDX-100 technology.
